LEAP operates on a triad mentor model. Each LEAP Fellow is paired with both a current law student mentor and a practicing attorney mentor. We welcome mentor applicants of both backgrounds!
Mentors give LEAP Fellows a critical insight and connection to law school and the professional world. When you sign up to mentor a LEAP Fellow, you are making a lifelong difference in their life.
Whether you are a law student or a practicing attorney, we ask that mentors stay with their assigned Fellow for the duration of the nine month fellowship, meeting up or talking at least once a month.
Mentors help their assigned Fellows by answering questions about law school and professional practice, connecting them with resources or opportunities as they arise, providing job shadowing opportunities when possible, and providing supportive guidance to Fellows throughout the program.
